The occupational Safety and Health (OSH Amendment Act 2022) which was passed and gazette in 2022 has come into force effective 1st June 2024.
The amendment act was formulated to integrate the Occupational Safety and Health Axt 1994 (OSHA 1994) and Factories and Machinery Act 1967 (FMA 1967) and repeal the later so as to provide a comprehensive Safety and Health Legislation that applies across all industries in Malaysia with exception to Armed Forces and Merchant Ships.
The amendment, among others, widen the application of OSHA, strengthen employees’ protection, increase the penalties amounts and provide additional duties to employers.

This course provides clear guidance on the steps to becoming a professionally registered engineer.
Phase 1 – Introduction and Awareness
An overview of the requirements for obtaining Professional Engineer (P.Eng/Ir.) registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). This session will help participants understand the available pathways and what is needed to sit for the exam.
Phase 2 – Pathways to P.Eng (Ir.) Registration
A detailed explanation of the three routes to P.Eng (Ir.) registration:
- Route A – Outcome-based assessment with BEM.
- Route B – International accreditation leading to P.Eng registration with BEM.
- Route C – Competency-based assessment with IEM.
The Offer
UMTSEA, in collaboration with Omahams Corp Sdn Bhd, is pleased to offer a half-day coaching course for graduate engineers who have completed their draft documentation, it shall be reviewed and advised for correctness.
Half-Day Coaching
Areas of Coverage: During the half-day physical coaching session, the following topics will be covered:
– Filling in the Career History format
– Completing the Training & Experience Report
– Conduct of interview, including preparation of an 8-slide presentation
– Guidance on Code of Ethics essay writing
Pre-requisite & Outcome
Pre-requisite: Participants must be registered with BEM as Graduate Engineers and have a minimum of three (3) years of working experience after the date of registration.
Outcome: Upon completion of the half-day session, participants will be able to confidently begin preparing the necessary documents for submission to BEM for the PAE Route A application.:
This course helps participants develop essential negotiation skills for different situations, such as salary discussions, sales, reports, and job offer. Participants will learn how to present information clearly and logically, ensuring facts and data support a successful and fair outcome.
This course teaches participants how to write clear, well-structured, and effective technical reports. It focuses on simplifying complex information so reports are easy to understand and useful for different audiences.
